"What I haven't started" - a poem...
I was at a Bay Area Roudtable Connect SF group the other day. It's a professional business group that meets monthly. We started out the meeting talking about what "one" thing we haven't started...and one of the members, Michael Curliss (owner of The Willows Inn, San Francisco) presented this poem that I believe we can all relate to...
What I Haven't Started
You asked for one, you silly man,
if only it were so,
The list of things I haven't done
It seems just grows and grows.
The new boyfriend I haven't found
The elusive Mr. Right.
Well, when I rarely ever meet someone,
He flees at morning's light.
Health insurance is on the list.
I've made a call or two.
But when they find out I'm not perfect,
the insurers all run too!
And, as you all can plainly see,
my wardrobe speaks for itself.
Most everything I wear these days,
is best left on the shelf.
I meant to take my car in,
a year ago...or two.
I'll get around to it soon, I'm sure,
when I have an extra buck or two.
And what of all those social plans
you've heard me talk about?
Dead Cork Society, New bar Group,
Any minute now, I have no doubt.
Seven days a week, it seems
are simply no enough.
After doing what we have to do,
doing what we want is really tough.
